Earthquake hit Yushu in Qinghai

A 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu in Qinghai Province at 7:49 a.m., with the epicenter being 30 km away from the Batang airport.
By now, about 400 people have died and more than 10,000 others were injured in the earthquake. Many others were still buried under the debris of collapsed houses near the epicenter.

Kaohsiung, Taiwan — A magnitude 6.7 earthquake rattled southern Taiwan at 8:18 a.m. today (Mar. 4th), according to the CCTV news.

The epicenter, at a depth of about 6.0 km, was 22.9 degrees latitude north and 120.6 degrees longitude, in the same mountainous region of rural Kaohsiung county that endured the brunt of the damage from Typhoon Morakot, a devastating storm that killed about 700 people last August.
